The story of a photographer
I have always strongly connected with animals and my journey into training dogs starting in 1976 - where it put dogs front and center in my life. Equal to connecting to animals was a deep inner artist emerging. I first took camera in hand in the late '70's. In the mid 1980's I became both a professional dog trainer and a professional animal photographer and my two passions have remained side by side to this day. Both feed my soul and my expertise in one increases the level of excellence in the other.
With both training and photography, I have strived to have an "outside the box" approach so I could connect deeper and create outstanding results in both areas.
The camera lens provides another way for me to "feel" that deep connection with my 4 legged subjects. It is a feeling that is very hard to describe, but my lens provides me a "portal" into their world. I "feel" my photos and that guides me to capture the very essence of the beautiful soul that I see through my lens.
My photos have been printed on the covers of several breed specific dog magazines as well as in the AKC Gazette, Dog World and Dog Fancy. I was also sought out to have my photos included in an international book of dogs.
However, accolades can only bring a person so far. What continues to fuel me with photography is the sheer love and joy that I feel, when I am honored enough to lay on the ground, looking through my lens, into the eyes of a beautiful being. There are no words to describe the depth of love that I become immersed in.
